To Finsweet Employees

It has been a pleasure to work with all of you. Each one of you has played an important role in Finsweet’s success and recognition in the Webflow community. I am truly thankful for all of you.

2020 will have a lot of changes - and all of them should be good changes! Some processes will be improved, some will be automated, some will be removed, some will be added. People will be managing different parts of the business. People will be transitioning to have a bigger part in the growth of Finsweet. I hope by now most of you are feeling less like freelancers and more like a part of the Finsweet family. If you don’t, by the end of 2020 you will.

We have a lot more growing to do - individually as web professionals and as a company. In 2020, I will be transitioning away from client projects, client maintenance work, and general operations. I will put more focus on sales and business growth. The transition will benefit everybody. We’ll start closing more sales and attracting larger projects. This transition and end result won’t happen immediately. It will be a well-planned process over several months.

What’s next for you? I don’t know, you tell me. What do you want to do?

Do you want to do exactly what you’re doing now? That’s great. You can do that.

Do you want more responsibilities with the same pay? You can do that.

Do you want more responsibilities with more pay? You can do that too.

I challenge you to think about how you can help improve the Finsweet brand. What process(es) can you manage to help improve how we do business? What can you take off my to-do list to help me focus on sales? What project or initiative can you own to help us grow in the community? What Webflow resource or tool can you build to push us to the top? You have full access to our team and our developers if needed.

I am here to listen and see what we can do together. Not every request that comes in will be accepted. I talk about careless spending in the article, but please be clear this is *smart* careless spending. We are careless about the amount of fun projects we do and how much money they make. The only requirement is that this carelessness has to bring value to us. If you want to be paid more, we both have to agree that it is going to seriously help grow the Finsweet brand. It doesn’t have to bring us direct revenue. It has to grow or help our company in some way.
